About the Author

Hello! My name is Sharon. I’ve been happily married for 39 years, am a mother of two grown children, and a proud grandmother to ten wonderful grandchildren. I was born and raised in San Diego (23 years), lived in Florida (26 years), and now enjoy life in the South.

I named this website “Spiritual Mom” because, like a mom who comes alongside you to help you grow, I’d like to share biblical truths to help you grow spiritually.  The term spiritual is derived from the Latin word for “breath,” representing God’s breath of new life into us as we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior.

For most of my life, I taught technology and training classes in the fast-paced business world. I owned a technology training business and authored hundreds of technology manuals. Now, in retirement, I’m focusing on writing about God.

My own spiritual growth came from training with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to serve as a counselor for their Crusades. I’ve led women’s Bible study classes in the workplace and, together with my husband, facilitated Bible study groups for college and teen students at our church. Additionally, I’ve served as a Decision Counselor at our current church for many years. I continue to learn and draw closer to God each day through prayer and studying the scripture.

With my years of life experience and a foundation in God’s Word, I wish to share some of my own meaningful experiences with you, experiences that have guided me on my spiritual journey. I often share personal stories of how God has granted me grace, patience, protection, and mercy. I hope some of these stories inspire you to think deeply and grow spiritually. In our post-truth world, it’s more important than ever to share God’s truth with others, and I feel called to do just that.

I recently underwent two total knee replacements (just getting old) and am currently recovering from the last one; therefore, I haven’t been writing too many blogs this year. In addition, I am working on writing my first book (which is pretty exciting). I will be writing new blog posts soon, and I appreciate your patience.
