Famous Hashbrown Casserole Recipe

This is a great recipe for Easter or any special event. My daughter makes this recipe all the time and everyone enjoys it, especially the kids. Sometimes I get up a little early in the morning to make it as a special breakfast treat.

RECIPE

30 ounce frozen shredded hash browns (defrosted)

½ cup melted butter

1 can of cream of chicken soup (cream of mushroom soup also works)

2 cups of sour cream (16 oz)

1 onion (chopped)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; however, reserve ½ cup of cheese for topping.
  3. Place in a large casserole dish (9×12) and top with reserved cheese.
  4. Bake for 30-45 minutes or until the top is brown.
  5. Let it stand for 5 minutes before eating – it’s pretty hot.
