After nearly 50 years, Roe v Wade has been overturned! In a vote of 6 to 3 the Supreme Court ruled the Constitution never provided a right to an abortion (see 213-page decision). Roe v Wade was egregiously wrong from the start, and it is now corrected. Now each state can decide whether they want to ban, restrict or allow abortions.
I’m not sure what people envision when they hear the word abortion. In fact, if you asked a person on the street, they simply can’t say what it involves. The truth is abortion is a cruel and disgusting procedure performed on innocent human babies.
The Procedure is Brutal and Barbaric
In the 1st Trimester (5-13 weeks), babies are literally torn apart rapidly with a suction machine. See video.
In the 2nd Trimester (13-24 weeks) the babies’ arms, legs, and torso are ripped apart manually, piece by piece, then the skull is crushed so they can remove it. Then the abortionist collects all the parts and reassembles them to ensure he got all the babies body parts. See video.
In the 3rd Trimester (25-40) weeks), an injection of Digoxin is inserted into the baby and will cause a cardiac arrest, the baby dies. Then seaweed called laminaria is inserted to dilate the cervix. The women must wait for laminaria to dilate her cervix and will have to carry the dead baby for 2-3 days. She will have contractions and will deliver her stillborn son or daughter. See video.
The US – A Horrific Killing Field for Babies
To date, over 63 million American unborn babies have been killed. The United States has had an extreme drift in abortion law and policy, allowing late-term abortions and failing to protect the lives and health of unborn children and their mothers. The U.S. has been one of only six nations, including China and North Korea, that allows abortion-on-demand throughout all nine months of pregnancy, and one of only eight countries in the world that allows elective abortion past 20 weeks. Mississippi’s decision to protect life after 15 weeks is consistent with what most countries worldwide do. In fact, 75% of all nations protect life after 12 weeks’ gestation. The U.S. is ranked as having the most appalling abortion policies in the world!
States – For Life
In anticipating overturning Roe v Wade, as of the date of this post, 13 states have trigger laws that ban all or most abortions, they are: Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. We should commend all the states that have stepped up boldly to protect life. However, don’t look to governmental laws to confirm whether it’s ok to murder an unborn child, instead we need to look to what God says about life.
What Does God Say About Life?
The abortion industry has spent 50 years lying to pregnant women, telling them that their baby is just a blob of tissue, that it’s really not a baby, and because of that it’s ok to terminate it (aka kill it). However, God’s Word clearly tells us, it is a baby. God has placed the highest value on human life. It is sacred and of inestimable worth to God, who created us “in His own image” (Genesis 1:26–27).
“You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to
breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!” Psalm 139:16
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you.” Jeremiah 1:5
“Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?” Job 31:15
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalm 127:3
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body, and knit them together in my mother’s womb. … You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion! You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!” Psalm 139:13–16
God recognizes the unborn as being fully human from the moment of inception. For the woman who says, “My body, my choice”. The baby is a separate human being who has a unique DNA. Sadly, people often formulate their own moral values especially if it benefits them. However, God has made it crystal clear on the issue of sanctity of human life.
How Does God View Murder?
We have seen that an unborn baby is a human being even from the moment of inception. What does God’s Word say about killing another human being? In the following passages, you’ll hear God’s strong tone on the subject of murder.
“You shall not murder.” Exodus 20:13
“…do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty.” Exodus 23:7
“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ Matthew 5:21
“And shed innocent blood, even blood of their sons and of their daughters, and polluted the land with blood.” Psalm 106:38
“These six things doeth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.” Proverbs 6:16, 17
Are There Other Choices Besides Abortion?
A woman who has an unwanted pregnancy doesn’t need to kill their baby. The abortion mills refuse to show women a sonogram of their babies beating heart because most women who see their child’s beating heart will choose life. They also don’t tell women about other options. Why? Because they are in business to make a profit. It’s all about money.
- Put the baby up for adoption.
- Keep the baby.

Where Do We Go From Here?
- Continue to work to protect human life in any way possible.
- Pray for many more states to outlaw abortion.
- Share the videos. Many people have no idea what abortion entails. Once they see a video on it, they will change their mind. Show them.
- Support churches and pro-life organizations for they are on the front-line helping woman who decide to keep their babies, both emotionally and financially.
- Support companies like Pre-Born! (www.preborn.org) provide ultrasound machines to partnering pregnancy centers. In 2021, 44,849 babies’ lives were saved through Pre-Born because the mother saw her baby’s heartbeat.
- Financial assistance for families who want to adopt a child. For a start, we can divert the Federal funding of a half a billion dollars a year to Planned Parenthood (aka Planned Baby Murder) to families who sincerely want to adopt a baby but lack the funds.
- We don’t need for Planned Parenthood (or anyone) coming to our schools teaching kids that sex is ok and … if they do get pregnant, just have an abortion. [Yes, I personally heard this when I was in Jr. High School back in the 70’s].
- Parents need to step it up and instill in their teens that sex should be in the context of marriage (between a man and a woman). This is God’s design for a reason.
- Consider whether you should work for or spend your money at companies that are paying for employee abortion travel. (more on this in my next post)
There is forgiveness
For those who have had an abortion, the sin of abortion is forgivable. Through faith in Christ, all sins can be forgiven (John 3:16; Romans 8:1; Colossians 1:14). Whether it is a woman who has had an abortion, a man who has encouraged an abortion, or a doctor who has performed an abortion, all can be forgiven by faith in Jesus Christ.
